World Mental Health Day

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2024 g. people and communities around the world will unite under the slogan "Mental Health in the Workplace"!»

Mental health – it is one of the fundamental rights of every person.

Human mental health depends not so much on events, happening in his life (even the most unfavorable), how much of his reaction to them.

This year, WHO and partners are highlighting the inextricable link between mental health and work life. Safe and healthy working conditions may protect against mental health problems. Unfavorable work environment, including stigmatization, discrimination, and harassment and other threats and hazards may pose significant risks to workers, negatively affecting their mental health, general quality of life and, in the end, on their ability to work and productivity. Since the working population is 60% inhabitants of the planet, it is necessary to take measures as quickly as possible to, ensure that working conditions help prevent mental health risks, contributing to its protection and strengthening.

The following measures may be helpful to maintain employee mental health and satisfaction::

  • providing freedom of action and decision-making;
  • reasonable and realistic workload organization;
  • respectful cooperation – like between colleagues, same with leaders;
  • discussion and resolution of conflicts;
  • reasonable working hours, which allows you to maintain a balance between work and personal life;
  • ensuring job security – as far as possible;
  • providing opportunities for advanced training.

The implementation of these measures largely depends on employers. However, employees can also discuss these measures, offer them or express wishes to managers, eg, desire to improve your qualifications or work with a more flexible schedule.

Important to know! Mental illness affects every area of life. Mental health is an important factor for a happy life.: as personal, and professional. Therefore, mental health issues are not only important for individuals, but also for companies and society as a whole.

Remember! Self-care is not selfishness, and necessity!
