Annually, 10 september, World Health Organization (VOZ), sponsored by the International Association for Suicide Prevention (International Association for Suicide Prevention), celebrates World Suicide Prevention Day (World Suicide Prevention Day).

An interdepartmental system for the prevention of suicidal behavior of the population has been created and continues to function steadily in the Republic of Belarus. The proper level of interdepartmental interaction of participants in the implementation of preventive measures has been achieved, as evidenced by the decline in deaths from suicide in recent years (2018 g. – 19,1 on 100 outside. population; 2019 g. – 17,7 on 100 outside. population; 2020 g. – 16,2 on 100 outside. population; 2021 g. – 15,9 on 100 outside. population).

Problems in the family are the main socio-psychological cause of suicides. Children, committing suicide, usually, from disadvantaged families, in which conflicts often occur between parents and children, with violence.

Signs of Depressive Reactions in Adolescents:

– depressed mood, sadness, despondency, sadness, yearning;

– fatigue, brokenness;

– irritability, excitability, aggressiveness, anger, fury;

– guilt, low self-esteem, tearfulness;

– alarm, anxiety;

– loss of habitual interests;

– avoidance of social contact, isolation;

– distraction, decreased concentration, forgetfulness;

– decline in school performance, increased fatigue,

lack of interest in learning, etc..

In order to prevent crises, parents need to:

– never leave problems unresolved, relating to the preservation of the physical and mental health of the child;

– analyze every difficult situation with your son or daughter;

– to teach a child from early childhood to take responsibility for their actions and decisions, anticipate the consequences of these actions. Make him want to ask questions: "What will happen, if?»;

– educate the child in the habit of telling parents not only about their achievements, but also about anxiety, doubts, fears;

– not be late with answers to his questions on various problems of physiology;

– do not make fun of the child, if in some situation he turned out to be weak physically or morally, should help and support him. And better: indicate possible solutions to the problem;

– discuss with your "child" the work of services, who can help in a situation, life-threatening; write down the corresponding phone numbers;

– write down your work phone numbers, as well as phone numbers of people, whom you yourself trust.

If the crisis situation causes strong feelings in the child, he may think about hurting himself as a way to solve the problem (even if you said before, that only weak people can commit suicide). Suicidal behavior in adolescents can have unexpected, impulsive nature, may develop gradually.
